Covers medical expenses for 21 specified infectious diseases.

SpecialCare (Down Syndrome) offers two plans with different levels of coverage. Here's a simple breakdown:
Permanent Disability: Up to $30,000 / $60,000 per policy year
Outpatient Expenses (Accident): Up to $2,000 / $3,000 per policy year
Hospital Expenses (Accident): Up to $5,000 / $7,500 per policy year
Daily Hospital Income: $50 / $75 per day, up to 60 days per accident
Infectious Disease Coverage: Up to $1,000 / $2,000 per incident
Mobility Aids: Up to $500 / $1,000 per policy year
Physiotherapy and Psychiatric Therapy: Up to $1,000 / $2,000 per policy year
Accidental Death or Permanent Disability: Up to $30,000 / $60,000 in lifetime
Premium Waiver: Up to 5 years if caregiver passes away due to accident
Home Modification: Up to $3,000 / $6,000 in lifetime
Caregiver Training: Covered as charged (once per accident)
The cost depends on the plan you choose:
Plan 1: $201.70 per year
Plan 2: $358.58 per year
These prices are for individuals aged 15 days to 30 years old and include 9% GST.
If your loved one falls and breaks a bone: Medical expenses would be covered up to the plan limit. They would receive daily hospital income if admitted. Follow-up physiotherapy would be covered.
If they contract a covered infectious disease: Medical expenses would be covered up to $1,000 (Plan 1) or $2,000 (Plan 2).
If you, as the caregiver, are permanently disabled in an accident: You'd receive a lump sum payout of up to $30,000 (Plan 1) or $60,000 (Plan 2).
